Cornada Cora Bowling, daughter of the late Wesley and Lula (Morton) Bowling was born October 4, 1915 in Providence, KY. She departed this life at Hillside Center in Madisonville, KY on October 16, 2013.
At an early age she professed a hope in Christ and joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She attended Rosenwald School in Providence. Cornada moved to Chicago, IL as a young adult. She retired from Hysan Products and returned to Providence in 1974.
Cornada was a fun loving person. She was nicknamed "Sassy", "Shorty", "Cornball" and "Nassa". She loved family and family gatherings. She loved cooking and babysitting her family members. She was a caregiver for some of her family.
Those who have preceded her are one son Jerome B. Smith, one granddaughter Cora Ramona Smith Clark and brothers and sisters Mildred Allen, Neil Bowling, Nonie Harris, Odie Price, R.T. Bowling, Lucinda Webb and Wesley Roosevelt Bowling.
Cornada leaves to mourn a daughter in law Shirley Smith of Chicago, IL; her grandchildren Valencia Smith and Cheryl Pollard; great grandchildren Tracy, Darnell, Chiquita, Justin and Joshua all of Chicago, IL; a great great grandson Ja'Haun Elijah Amier Smith of Chicago, IL; two sister in laws whom she was very close to; Dorothy Bowling of Henderson, KY and Clariece Bowling of Sacramento, KY also a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
