Dora Omega Coomes

Dora Omega Coomes 76 of Providence passed away January 18, 2014 at her residence.  She was the daughter of the late Hardy and Girffie Utley.  She is Survived by husband, George Tommy Coomes, Stepson Jeff Coomes, stepdaughters Janet Alexander and Jill Dunbar, Brother David Green Utley (Gerda), Sisters Leroa Alice Yates (Bobby) and Edith Joyce Curry, Grandson Aaron Blaine, 4 step grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in Death by previous husband Ernest “Tuney” Lamb, daughter Nancy Blaine, Brothers Hardy Clark Utley and Benjamen Douglas Utley.  Dora married George Tommy Coomes October 2, 1981 on their back steps.  She was a member of Pleasant Valley Church. She attended Dalton high School, and enjoyed Fishing, sewing, and cooking for family and friends.  Visitation for Dora will be held from 3pm to 8pm Sunday and Funeral Service at 1pm Monday in the chapel of the Jones Erdman Funeral Home. Burial will the White Oak Cemetery near Providence.
