Dr. Wayne Cole, D.O., FACOFP 84 of Providence passed away at his residence on April 17th 2017. He practiced medicine for 48 years at Cole Clinic. He was also a retired Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve. Among his many lists of accomplishments he also served as Mayor of Providence. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman Leslie Cole and Stella (Hancock) Cole, a son David Cole, 2 brothers Ray Cole and Rodney Cole and a sister Rose Glover. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Billie Cole. A son Todd Cole (Elaine) 2 daughters Kelly Cole and Kim Reusch (Ryan), 9 grandchildren Chrissy Chumley, Abbie Pennaman, Carlie Clark, Candie Outlaw, Lexie Cole, Will McCauley, Reid, Kate and Jack Ryan Reusch, 9 great-grandchildren Davi, Saydie and Owen Outlaw, Cole Branson, Cooper Chumley, Carsen Ware, Colbie and Colton Clark and Hudsyn McCauley. Visitation will be Wednesday 3-8pm in the chapel of Jones Kirby Funeral Home and 8am-2pm Thursday at the General Baptist church in Providence with service at 2pm and entombment to follow at Lakeview cemetery.
