JoAnn Simms

Mrs. Jo Ann Simms, age 76 of Madisonville and formerly of Providence, passed away Wednesday evening August 21, 2013 at the Hillside Center in Madisonville. 

Mrs. Simms was born February 28, 1937 in Dixon, Kentucky daughter of the late Stanley and Ruth Agnes (Owens) Jackson.  She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Providence as well as being retired from Ligon Trucking.

She is preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Jack Simms.  She is survived by three sons Tony (Sherry) Simms of Madisonville, Joey Head of Providence and David (Dorothy) Head of Earlington.  As well as one daughter Debbie (Dale) Stone of Providence.  Also surviving are two sisters Sandi Jackson and Sue Jackson of Providence and two brothers James Jackson of Providence and Bobby Jackson of Dixon. Also surviving are six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Visitation with the Simms family will be held on Saturday from 10:00 until funeral service time at 1:00 at the Jones - Erdman Funeral & Cremation Service with Brother Barry Cullen officiating with interment to follow at the Townsend Cemetery near Dixon.
