Patricia Ann (Massey) Oakley

Mrs. Patricia Ann Oakley, age 72 of Providence, passed away on Saturday September 21, 2013 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro of natural causes.

She was born October 31, 1940 in Webster County, KY the daughter of the late Earl and Leola Massey.  She graduated from Providence High School in 1958 and also graduated from Draughons Business College.  She was a member of Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school.  She was an accomplished pianist and organist.  She worked at Dr. Cole’s office as an administrative clerk.  She married Doyle Oakley on November 5, 1961 at the Victory Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents.  She is survived by her husband Doyle Oakley of Providence; two daughters Beverly Fowler (Ray) of Waverly, KY and Alison Whitledge (Danny) of Providence; two grandchildren Logan and Macie Whitledge and one Uncle James Rich of Dixon, KY.

Visitation with the Oakley family will be on Monday afternoon from 2:00 until 8:00 at the Jones-Erdman Funeral Home.  Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 in the chapel of the Jones-Erdman Funeral Home with entombment to follow in the Lakeview Mausoleum.
