Mrs. Tula B. Rakestraw, 96 of Mt Pleasant community near Slaughters, passed away on Tuesday, June 25 in Henderson. She was born Oct. 21, 1916 in Trigg County to Thomas B. and Virginia Stone. Tula worked in aircraft assembly during WW II and as a sewing machine operator at Carhartt and Enro. She also worked for a time at Servel in Evansville. She and Woodrow Rakestraw were married on April 12, 1947 in Henderson. He preceded her in death in 1973. Tula attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sisters in law, Blanche Driesbach and Alcy B. Rakestraw of the Mt. Pleasant community and Rose E. Rakestraw of St. Charles, Mo., several nieces, nephews and cousins and two step children.
